Life Is A Song

Is it possible that we've all been given the same or a similar melody in the ensemble of life?

What I mean to say is, we all have our melody, but it is our decision to make it go wherever musically with whatever lyrics.

Fill your life with splendor and bliss.  Not the chocolates, though.  Then your life wouldn't be too long.  ;)

Think about what words continually appear in your conversations and rewrite them if you aren't satisfied.  Be your poet.

  1. My small, momentary excursion from everyday life right here in the comments section of your blog! Yay!

I am curious about your melodic pontification about everyone having the same or similar melody. I'm really liking the idea, especially as it relates to thought and creation, and will have to think upon it.

Your last sentence is prime. Have you ever put words in the search box of your blog? I've done it with mine.

I've looked up words like love, light, happiness, joy, play, kindness, fun, and then tried words like darkness, grief, hate, and so forth. It's quite interesting to see how often I use particular words, and how rarely I use others.

Every time I write a blog post, letter, or text, I scan it visually and emotionally for any word or phrasing that doesn't fit my intended offering. And then I fix it.

I also find that I overuse my favorite words, and I want to replace them. I still remember the first time I really heard someone use the word "amaze." I consciously incorporated it into my vocabulary, and now I use it a bit too much, and subsequently banned it from my vocabulary for the next month.

I also find that I tend to include a lot of words that have to do with light and water. I love that, but I keep thinking how much cheer it would bring me to play with other sets of words, like say geography, or fashion attire.

Sometime I'll show you this book I have called Word Menu. It's cray, and no thesaurus or online word search can replicate it. You will like it. Yes you will.
